ABOUT US

Founded in the fall of 1989, Mountain State Machine Tool, Inc., located in Ranson, West Virginia, is the result of a decade-long partnership and shared passion between John Heinz and Joe Jurek. The two met while studying machine trades at the James Rumsey Vocational-Technical Center and discovered they had much in common, leading them to forge a professional bond that spanned several companies and projects.

After ten years of working side by side in various roles, Heinz and Jurek decided to pool their talents and open their own shop. Mountain State Machine Tool, Inc. specializes in industrial machining, welding, steel fabrication, and on-site services, catering to farmers, small businesses, and industries throughout the region. They built the business on a foundation of hands-on experience, with Heinz drawing inspiration from a lifelong interest in mechanics and Jurek following in his father’s footsteps as a tool and die maker.

Their journey includes stints at companies like Fabritek in Winchester, where their skills made such an impact that managers struggled to choose between them for the same job. That camaraderie and mutual respect became the cornerstone of their business philosophy.
